FUJI SAN
A very small edition of 3 prints I created for the Pressing Matters magazine “Pink & Blue’ challenge this year. The print is based on a photograph I took on my last few days in Japan, in summer 2024. I set out to an organised trip to Mt. Fuji. It turned out to be a very cloudy day, and unfortunately Fuji san was very shy…
At the end of the trip we went to an onsen, where, after a very refreshing bath in ice cold and hot waters, I enjoyed a tea at the café. I sat at the window facing the mountain. Everything at the horizon felt hazy. Suddenly, in a distance, clouds dispersed and the peak of the mountain gleamed against a moody blue sky…It was a strangely beautiful and ominous view… it made my day…
Each of 3 prints is slightly different. It’s approx. 21cm by 23 cm, unframed, printed on original Japanese washi paper.
